How to set this from LocalSettings.php

As it seems like bug 48841 is now fixed, I guess this page need to be updated. Is it still the same syntax we should use, just in LocalSettings.php?

The syntax has changed now and this page is obsolete. I will update this soonish. In the meantime you can follow the documentation in the SemanticMediaWiki.settings.php file.

As an afterthought, I think this page should be kept elsewhere to correspond to SMW 1.8 versions.

I have just updated the docu and split it into a SMW 1.8 and SMW 1.9+ version. It should be ok now. In case of errors ...
