The Enhanced Retrieval (ER) extension is based on 'Solr' and provides a powerful full-text search engine for your wiki that also supports faceted search using annotations by Semantic MediaWiki. The search covers full text contents (also from uploaded PDF and Word documents) as well as all semantic metadata, presenting the results in a unified interface.
It's hosted on GitHub and available via Composer:
composer require diqa/enhanced-retrieval
Please read the INSTALL file in the extension's root folder for further instructions.
Note: ER requires a SOLR backend, meaning that it will not run on most shared-hosters since they usually do not provide a Java virtual machine. The backend (called 'Power-Search') is free for non-commercial use. It can be licensed for commercial use.
This documentation page applies to all SMW versions from 2.4 to the most current version.
