Semantic MediaWiki 3.0.0Released on 11 October 2018 and compatible with MW 1.27.0 - 1.31.x. contains various smaller and larger improvements on how Semantic MediaWiki works and exposes its data to users. Aside from the release notes (includes the most updated information), this page has a selection of highlights to describe its embedded context in closer detail to help evaluate the impact of related changes.
As as a major version it allows us to remove previous deprecated functions, introduce breaking changes, and add features that are experimental hereby can be removed at any time without further notice.
Most notably is the introduction of the ElasticStore and its support for structured and unstructured searches using the Elasticsearch software as backend instead of the default SQLStore to improve query performance especially for wiki farm and enterprise users.
