MediaWiki has grown into a tangled monolith, which makes it tough to make changes and implement features. The WMF Platform Engineering Team has set out on an "expedition" to improve the situation. In this talk, I will tell you about what we are trying to achieve, how we are going about it, and how it will affect extension developers.
