This presentation discusses ongoing Master's Thesis research regarding Rule-based Systems and Semantic MediaWiki at the Open University in the Netherlands. We identify components from business rule systems for potential integration into enterprise wikis. This work also provides an overview of system components of business rule systems for both reasoning and user-interfaces. It then summarizes the relevant interface and processing components of Semantic MediaWiki and how they are used to make enterprise wikis.
The execution of this Master's Thesis research consists primarily of designing the implementation of selected business rule-based system components with functionality from Semantic MediaWiki. Various case studies will provide interface scenarios that form the basis for these implementations on SMW. The results should enable others to program business rule-based functionality into wiki platforms so that enterprise wikis benefit from applying formal logic.
