SEKT (Semantically Enabled Knowledge Technology) is a European FP6 research project that went on from 2004 to 2006. It is led by BT Group plc. Its goal is to bring together experts in knowledge discovery, ontology and metadata technologies, and human language technologies and to combine it into one platform to enable building semantic applications. The project director is John Davies of BT, and the technical director is Rudi Studer of the AIFB.
Semantic MediaWiki was first developed with the support of the SEKT project.
