In this presentation, we will introduce a tool called the “Concept Manager,” which is designed to comply with the Dutch standard NL-SBB (Dutch version of SKOS and other semantic standards). The main goal of this application is to allow business users to manage concepts in a simple and accessible way. This is particularly important for the Dutch public and semi-public sector, where the accurate definition and management of concepts play a crucial role in information provision, especially in data exchange processes.
Additionally, the concepts managed within this Concept Manager are integrated with a management portal, allowing them to be published as linked data in a Concept Viewer. This ensures that the concepts are not only well-maintained but also made available in a structured, standardized format that supports efficient sharing and reuse across various platforms and government bodies.
We also demonstrate the technical implementation on the MediaWiki platform and show which existing and custom-developed extensions we use to achieve this functionality.
