Properties is a special page that lists the properties created by users as well as special properties provided by Semantic MediaWiki itself or related extensions providing special properties such as e.g. extension "Semantic Extra Special Properties"Adds some extra special properties to all pages. Special properties are shown in italics for better identification. This special page also displays the overall usage of the respective property on the particular wiki. It was introduced in Semantic MediaWiki 0.4Released on 12 May 2006 and compatible with MW 1.6.1 - 1.8.x..

Semantic MediaWiki 1.9.0Released on 3 January 2014 and compatible with MW 1.19.0 - 1.22.x. introduced the maintenance script "rebuildPropertyStatistics.php"Allows to rebuild the property usage statistics allowing to update the statistical data on this special page. These data are no longer automatically updated by Semantic MediaWiki since. This avoids using an active connection to the data store thus improving the performance of the wiki. However after running the maintenance script the information displayed on this special page is not immediately updated. This may take up to one hour if the default settings for the configuration parameter $smwgCacheUsageSets how the caching behaviour or special pages related to Semantic MediaWiki is controlled are used.

Since Semantic MediaWiki 1.9.0Released on 3 January 2014 and compatible with MW 1.19.0 - 1.22.x. a search form using autocompletion for search suggestions is provided by this special page. Note that when using this search form the results are using the lookup cache for performance reasons too which is also governed by configuration parameter $smwgCacheUsageSets how the caching behaviour or special pages related to Semantic MediaWiki is controlled.
