Wikibase is a collection of applications and libraries for creating, managing and sharing structured data. Like MediaWiki is the software originally created for the Wikipedia project, Wikibase is the software behind the Wikidata project. And like MediaWiki, everyone is welcome to use and contribute to the software. This short presentation will outline what consitutes Wikibase, in which contexts it can currently be used and where it is going. You will get a better idea of how it is different from Semantic MediaWiki, and how the two platforms can interoperate.

Since this presentation is about the Wikibase software, parts of it will be somewhat technical.
