To improve the display of properties on special page "Browse"Shows all properties and their values annotated to a page the so called property group feature was introduced with Semantic MediaWiki 3.0.0Released on 11 October 2018 and compatible with MW 1.27.0 - 1.31.x.1 by which properties that belong to a classified category are displayed as a group on special page "Browse" allowing users to quickly distinguish properties of similar characteristics from one another.
Assigning a property group is simply done by adding a category to a property where that category is being specified by annotating it with special property "Is property group"Marks a category for holding properties belonging to a property group. Each wiki can define its own individual system of categorization to help users to find information more quickly. It is also possible to define a label for the property groups which are localizable.
Semantic MediaWiki 3.2.0Released on 7 September 2020 and compatible with MW 1.31.0 - 1.35.x. and later import a group definition of some predefined properties provided by Semantic MediaWiki core ( predefined.properties.json).2 However if the wiki defines an individual group for a property then this has priority before the pre-deployed group assignment.
