Toneelstof.be is a website showcasing 4 decades of theater history in Flanders, Belgium.
The website's editors interface (or backend) is Semantic Media Wiki, and the front end of the website uses Javascript and SVG, using the libraries rdfquery for JS-based RDF access, and d3.js (in particular the force layout) for graphical layout, to create a dynamic timeline of linked data. PHP & Python are used to dump RDF data from the SMW and then join it with additional information coming from the central database of the VTI (which has information such as specific seasons a given production took place). Search (in the frontend) is handled via the standard Mediawiki API.
The site is a production of the Flemish Institute for the Performing Arts and was designed by Michael Murtaugh and Femke Snelting.
