Sep 29 2011. Free Software Directory re-launched with Semantic MediaWiki

The Free Software Foundation, a pioneering organization best known for creating GNU as well as the GNU General Public License, has since 2002 also run the "Free Software Directory", a website listing free and open-source software. Today it re-launched the site as a wiki running Semantic MediaWiki, in order to allow users to directly add to and modify the site's contents, as well as to improve searching. In a press release, the FSF said the change will make the site "a more useful and current resource".
