ACTIVE kick-off: EU continues support for SMW

March 10–12, 2008, Bled, Slovenia. The new EU-funded integrated project ACTIVE has been started these days with a successful kick off meeting. ACTIVE will integrate methods and tools from the fields of Social Software and Web 2.0, Semantic Technologies, Context Sensitive Task Management, and Pro-Active Knowledge Process Support. AIFB as part of the ACTIVE consortium will also bring Semantic MediaWiki into the project, which ensures its further development by Markus Krötzsch and Denny Vrandecic. Semantic MediaWiki was first developed in the project SEKT, which was also funded by the EU, and in the project Halo, funded by Vulcan, Inc.
